Stumbling Upon Life

People often want brave and courageous stories around them to hold their foot on the ground. Why look anywhere else? Each one of us has battles of our own. We give ourselves very little credit because we feel that we lead ordinary lives and ordinary lives are not courageous or not filled with valor.

I believe it is quite the opposite. Even to be happy in an ordinary life filled with challenges to meet basic requirements like food and shelter requires courage. The 2020 covid lockdown in India saw many migrants on foot for days, struggling to meet ends. They wanted to get home to safety and thereby be happy. Weren’t they courageous? To walk miles just to be home, in the safe and happy place was the bravest move I have seen by an ordinary person.
